The service and food are really awesome and the place is very clean. Jason was awesome . I recommend the place.
Finally got an opportunity to try this place out after seeing a reel on Instagram. I called for a reservation for 11 people but they don't take reservations. The person I spoke to did give some guidance as far as times when a group wouldn't be a problem. Just note the max they can do at one table would be 8 to sit together. To the food! As far as I knew they are famous for their Maine lobster served baja style! Comes with rice and beans and homemade tortillas! Get ready to get your hands dirty! The lobster was outstanding! The garlic butter was so good! The queso fundido was great and we had several orders of tacos which were all very good. La Unica is also know for their selection of Mezcals and craft cocktails. The price point is fair for the quality. Lobster entree was $95 and that serves two, the lobsters are 2 lbs. Service was attentive and helpful, definitely will be back when I have the opportunity. They are located in the middle of downtown Lake Elsinore which is all lit up for the holidays! Pretty cool.
My friend took me here for my birthday. My friend is Mexican and she knows what good Mexican food is where I really had no clue. I think the food tasted clean and the beans and rice were yummy. I was thinking maybe if i ordered red sauce with beef enchiladas would be better. Instead I had the green sauce chicken enchiladas. I ate everything up. Ambiance was a little romantic and spacious booths. Service was fine and average. The entree was $18 each.
This place is straight FIRE!!!!! The lobster was sooo delicious! My girls loved it so much we had to get a 3rd one at the end. The tacos were unreal, lobster but let me tell you the shrimp was just untouchable. We came from HB to eat here, well worth the drive. The service was top notch, fast and very friendly.
we came for lunch at noon on a Sunday afternoon and we were seated right away. the inside kind of has a funky style and seems a bit random decor. I ordered the three carne asada tacos for $18 and my friend ordered the chicken molé tacos and spanish rice. i was surprised that my tacos didn't come with rice and beans for that steep of a price but I just added it on the side for an up charge. also, even though my friends meal said chicken molé tacos it was more like a plate and had tortillas on the side. the horchata was refreshing and the food tasted good abd surprisingly authentic. the service was friendly and fast. it did take us a little too long to get our bill but it was okay. overall glad we tried it.
Our dinner at La Unica was delicious. We started off with a mezcal flight to get things started right. I also enjoyed a Corona light to go with the chips and salsa. The lobster was one of the best lobsters I have ever had. Cooked and seasoned to perfection. The lobster was large and one half filled me up, but I forced myself to eat the entire lobster because I didn't want to bring it home. The beans were also very good and was a perfect compliment to the chips. You enter into the bar and have to make a right to head over to the hostess which was a little weird, but other than that everything was great.
For the past few months I have been on a quest to find the perfect Mexican restaurant to dine-in vice my usual takeout. In the past I have visited a few establishments that fell short of my expectations, resulting in my return only to order takeout because the place was too casual, lacked atmosphere, style or prepared quality food and beverages that would meet the prerequisites for a date or fine dining. After scanning the web; word-of-mouth; and Yelp I arrived at La Unica Barrio Concina Y Tequila. Located in Lake Elsinore on their historic Main Street. Upon arrival we entered, and waited to be seated, only to discover the restaurant is Very popular in the region and there is a one hour wait for a table. Gave a name and a cell number and proceeded to explore the surroundings as we waited to dine. Approximately, an hour later we received the call and were seated, received menus, a warm welcome by "Esme" Esmerelda, and glasses of ice water. The atmosphere is somewhat "club-like" with modern Latin American hip-hop and pop music that is played throughout the restaurant, bar, and restrooms The décor is colorful and extremely artistic with artwork adorning the walls, Mexican motif and artifacts, complementary booths & tables, dim modern lighting, and tableware and linen napkins. Moments later Esme returned with "Chips & Salsa" and made some recommendations for drinks. Selected a House Margarita (Blanco Tequila, Orange Liqueur, Lime, Agave Nectar) with "Buzz Button" and a Guava Margarita (Blanco Tequila, Passion Liquor, Lime, Agave, Guava Nectar), and we were sipping within minutes. After a few questions regarding the menus content; we ordered two Taco Trios. One comprised of a Fish Taco, a Carnitas Taco, & a Lobster Taco; and the other containing a Lobster Taco, a Barbacoa Taco & a Chicken Mole Taco with a plate of Frijoles on the side. For the meal we ordered a House Margarita and a Tamarindo (Blanco Tequila, Orange Liqueur, Lime, Orange Juice Pulp, Tamarindo). The food arrived piping hot, and true to the testimony of "Modern Traditional Mexican & Spanish Cuisine". Everything was prepared in an elegant, fine dining fashion, and the composition of flavors were exotic and scrumptious! Works of art, and the ample portions made it a challenge to consume everything, but the flavor made it impossible to abandon. Reasonable prices, liberal portions, friendly customer service, upbeat ambiance, and Vegetarian, Vegan & "GF" options. Great time! Must return to sample their Lobster Entrée! Special thank you to Esme!j
A great experience with a wonderful waitress. The food was delicious. Definitely get the lobster! This place has a great environment with cool art on the walls. We will definitely return
This was my first time going to eat in Lake Elsinore. This restaurant was surprisingly really good! The lobster is a must try! It's cooked to perfection and paired with the butter it was *chefs kiss.* We also got the shrimp ceviche, fish taco & filet mignon taco. Everything was good! Service was great & they kept coming back to check up on us. Restaurant has a bar when you enter, but the restaurant itself is small but cozy? Worth a try if you're nearby!
